LebMASH x VIVA Girls

In collaboration with MADRE’s initiative: VIVA Girls and filmmaker Ghida Ladkani, LebMASH produced 4 campaign videos. Two of which highlighted the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community during confinement following the outbreak of COVID-19, and two others showcased the dangers of sexual orientation change efforts.

On the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOT),we spoke to local members of the LGBTQ+ community about their challenges around quarantine, health, and job security during these hard times.
This year, IDAHOT came about during a very challenging time for the Lebanese LGBTQ+ community. With COVID-19 taking over, the Lebanese LGBTQ + community was found especially vulnerable in regards to their overall security. While it is crucial to celebrate our successes, it is just as important that we reflect on our hardships and work together to make the world a better place for us all. It’s about time such discriminations against our community end.
