About the Workshop:
This workshop provides health profession students (medical, nursing, social work, psychology…) with basic knowledge about sexual health, health concerns, and disparities of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities.
The workshop uses active learning strategies to provide students with opportunities to practice affirming and inclusive health care regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Goals/Objectives of the Workshop:
- Increase understanding, comfort, and confidence in addressing sexual health and LGBT health issues in Lebanon
- Demonstrate competence in comprehensive sexual history assessment inclusive of gender and sexual orientation diversity
- Identify effective communication strategies to provide affirming care for LGBT patients.
