Ms. Angela Massouh is a Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Clinical Instructor at the American University of Beirut (AUB). She graduated from the AUB, School of Nursing in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. After graduation, she worked as a registered nurse in the Coronary Care Unit at the AUB Medical Center for a total of 5 years during which she did her Masters of Science in Adult Care Nursing with a focus on Cardiology, namely Heart Failure. Her clinical training included an extensive internship at AUBMC in Cardiology and Heart Failure as well as an extensive training with Clinical Nurse Specialists in Heart Failure clinics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and hospital.
Her career in academia started in 2009 where she joined AUB’s School of Nursing as a clinical instructor and later as a joint Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist at AUBMC. In 2013, she started her full time PhD journey at the University of Colorado, Denver focusing on Biobehavioral research.
As a healthcare provider and academic working in Lebanon, Ms. Massouh is interested in health equity and subsequently LGBTQ health and rights in Lebanon. She hopes to use her commitment and expertise to serve LebMASH’s mission in Lebanon and help influence attitudes and behaviors of health care providers regarding LGBT health and sexual health in Lebanon.
